Administration Auctions Off Unused Border Wall Parts

Government agencies call them “excess” materials.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers turned unused parts intended to build the border wall at the U.S. southern border over to the Defense Logistics Agency for disposition. Millions of dollars of materials are now for sale. According to the Army Corps of Engineers, there is approximately $154 million worth of what the Defense Logistics Agency is calling “excess border wall materials.”

Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi said the administration is trying to get around the new legislation. He called the sale “wasteful.“

Legislation that was included in the bipartisan Defense Authorization Act passed last month calls for the federal government to either use the materials to finish the wall or transfer them to state governments so that they might continue the border wall construction.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Senator Wicker and his colleagues as they seek to secure the nation’s southern border.
  • For the president and his administration as they endeavor to sell off unused border wall materials.
